The New Logistics Professions
Alongside traditional roles such as drivers, warehouse workers, or supply chain managers, highly specialized figures are emerging: robotic shuttle engineers, circular packaging designers, hydrogen train designers, and digital fleet managers. These are just a few examples of the professions expected to take hold between 2025 and 2030.
AI and Automation Reshape the Workplace
Artificial intelligence and automation are revolutionizing how logistics processes are designed and managed. Drone delivery operators, smart warehouse designers, AI traffic optimization technicians, and automation anomaly analysts will be increasingly in demand. Cross-disciplinary skills like data analysis, critical thinking, and problem solving are becoming essential.
Infrastructure and Sustainability Take the Lead
Investments from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) are driving new roles focused on developing sustainable infrastructures: intermodal mobility experts, e-mobility technicians, and smart highway designers. Sustainability is a key strategic factor, with dedicated roles in battery recovery, emissions reduction, and the management of innovative energy hubs.
