2025–2027 Funds for Road Haulage
Decree approved: €684 million over three years to support toll reductions, tax deductions, training, and sector sustainability
The Italian Ministry of Economy and Finance, in agreement with the Ministry of Transport, has officially approved the allocation of funds for road haulage for the 2025–2027 period. The total investment amounts to €684 million, or €228 million per year, aimed at boosting the competitiveness of companies, supporting the ecological transition, and improving road safety.
How the funds will be used
The largest portion of the funds—€140 million annually—will go towards compensated reductions in motorway tolls, managed as usual by the National Committee for the Road Haulage Register.
Another €70 million will support the flat-rate deduction of undocumented expenses for single-vehicle operators, offering financial aid to micro-enterprises in the sector. An additional €5 million is earmarked for professional training, with the aim of enhancing technical skills in an increasingly complex regulatory landscape.
: Investments in sustainability and innovation
The plan also includes €13 million for ecological fleet renewal and the development of intermodal logistics. The goal is to reduce emissions, modernize fleets, and encourage a sustainable transformation of road transport businesses.
The disbursement procedures for these funds will be defined in a dedicated ministerial decree, ensuring efficiency, transparency, and speed in accessing the resources. A concrete step forward in guiding the road haulage sector toward a more competitive and responsible future.
